Fado e Morna

Amália Rodrigues and Cesária Évora influenced the elevation of fado and morna to Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The two divas represented the identity and culture of their countries and are now honored in a concert taking place in the garden of Amália’s house. On August 4, Célia Leiria (fado), Valter Monteiro (morna), Pedro Soares (viola) and Pedro Amendoeira (Portuguese guitar) gather to celebrate Portuguese and Cape Verdean music, but also the culture of both countries.
