Alexandre Farto aka Vhils

Eterno is a platform dedicated to exploring the intersection between digital and physical art. By curating exhibitions, launches and experiences that blend these two universes, Eterno creates space for hybrid forms, where technology enhances material presence and digital formats expand the reach of artistic creation.

Founded in 2021, the platform presented itself with the exhibition Ephemeral Ethernal. To mark this new beginning, Eterno opened a new “phygital” art gallery in Marvila neighborhood, with its first exhibition Threshold, by acclaimed Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto aka Vhils, centered on his renowned project Layers.

Spread across two floors of the gallery, Threshold explores the tension between destruction and creation, visibility and erasure — a central feature of Vhils’ work. The upper floor features a selection of physical and digital works, including posters, prints and generative pieces. The lower floor offers a more immersive experience, with large-scale video projections that highlight the “phygital” dimension of the exhibition.
