Nicolas Altstaedt

Nicolas Altstaedt performs works of ancient and contemporary music with equal fervour and mastery. Recognised for his great versatility, he is currently one of the most sought-after cellists on the international stage.

For this recital, he chose two timeless Suites for solo cello by Bach, Kodály’s Sonata op. 8 and the piece Trois Strophes sur le nom de Sacher, composed by Dutilleux at Rostropovich’s request. An opportunity to hear a musician praised not only for his impeccable technique, but also for his expressiveness.
