Minta & The Brook Trout

Stretch is the name of Minta & The Brooktrout’s fifth album, which the band will present at B.Leza on September 18. The title is a reference to the word “elastic,” which encompasses the song ideas, as well as the entire recording and composition process. The name is also appropriate for the evolution of the band itself, which began as a solo project by Francisca Cortesão in 2006 but quickly expanded to include Mariana Ricardo, Margarida Campelo, and Tomás Sousa. In 2021, with the release of Demolition Derby, Afonso Cabral also joined the group. Stretch also features two North American voices: Shelley Short on Please make room for me please, and Tamara Lindeman on Born to be mild.
