A Poetics of Space
The exhibition Mily Possoz. A Poetics of Space, is the largest presentation to date of the work of one of the most important Portuguese modernist figures, bringing together works from various collections. It is divided into three spaces: Millennium bcp Gallery at MNAC, MU.SA – Museu das Artes de Sintra and NOVA Medical School – Advanced Health Education | Health Campus in Cascais.
MNAC presents the first section of the exhibition, which traces Mily Possoz’s training and early artistic career: from her studies at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris (from 1906) to the important commission she received in 1940 for the Portuguese World Exhibition, revealing a work marked by bold chromaticism, movement and technical experimentation.
