Chema Alvargonzalez

Mehr Licht (More Light) will be the first posthumous solo exhibition in Portugal of the Spanish multidisciplinary artist Chema Alvargonzalez (1960–2009), paying homage to a body of work that continues to inspire generations of international artists.

Having worked between Barcelona and Berlin, Alvargonzalez distinguished himself through his disruptive and idealistic vision, capable of critically reflecting on social, political, cultural, and economic transformations in Europe. Dreams and travel were central driving forces in his practice, which expanded beyond the studio, reaching public spaces through installations, site-specific interventions, and the unique use of words and light. His production also includes a vast body of photographic work.
