InShadow – Lisbon Screendance Festival
2025
Over six weeks, InShadow will take place in 14 venues across Lisbon. The festival is a pioneering initiative of Vo’Arte and, since 2009, has celebrated the countless possibilities of intersection between film, dance and technology through a rich and inclusive program.
The festival opens with LittleShadow, a program dedicated to young audiences, at Biblioteca de Alcântara, Museu da Marioneta and Coruchéus – Um Teatro em Cada Bairro. The International Documentary Competition runs from November 19 to 22 at Casa do Comum, and the International Screendance Competition, the central focus of the festival, takes place from November 25 to 28, at Teatro do Bairro.
This year, audiences have the opportunity to dive into the work of iconic choreographers such as Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Dimitris Papaioannou and John Neumeier, and discover powerful stories, including that of the first performance of the National Ballet of Ukraine after the outbreak of war. The festival also includes exhibitions, performances and installations throughout Lisbon.
