Eight Seasons

Just like sunrises and sunsets, the seasons are always different, even more so when they inspire composers so far apart in time and space. What would summers have been like in the first half of the 18th century in Venice? And the springs of the 1960s in Buenos Aires? In response to questions like these, this concert proposes an epic confrontation between two great musicians from different styles and eras; a confrontation with unpredictable but certainly complementary results.

On the one hand, Vivaldi’s luxuriant baroque sound, the famous four concertos named after the seasons. On the other, the nostalgic voluptuousness reminiscent of Argentine tango, this time with the violin replacing the accordion. The OML’s Concertmaster, Ana Pereira, takes over the musical direction and the place of the soloist.
