Balanchine /McNicol/ Forsythe

Three works from very different eras and generations of choreographers, but which dialogue with each other, through a base of classical dance. Concerto Barocco, based on Bach, corresponds to the personification of music in the dancers’ bodies, a characteristic very present in the work of George Balanchine. Upstream is a new creation by Andrew McNicol, and his first collaboration with Companhia Nacional de Bailado. Workwhithinwork, by William Forsythe, is part of a succession of duets that emerge from impersonal but simultaneously passionate encounters.
