Os Maias

In the first choreographic adaptation of Os Maias, a major work of Portuguese literature, Fernando Duarte presents a ballet in three acts, from October 16 to 26, at Teatro Camões, revitalizing narrative in dance. This original creation combines the dramatic intensity of Eça de Queirós’ universe with the unique expressiveness of choreography, in a contemporary exercise of intermediality that evokes, reinterprets, and gives new life to unique characters and timeless questions, glimpsed through Queirós’ sagacious irony.
