The world's best photojournalism
The world’s best photojournalism is back in Lisbon, once again through Visão magazine. From April 27 to May 19, the former Colégio dos Nobres arena will host the 62nd World Press Photo exhibition, bringing together the best pictures from last year’s visual journalism.
The nominees in the various categories have already been announced, and this year’s competition features a new category – “The Stories of the Year.” Mário Cruz, the Portuguese photographer who took the first place in the “Contemporary Topics” category in 2016, has been nominated again this year. The photos have been selected by an independent jury made up of equal numbers of men and women from different backgrounds. This year, the jury evaluated 78,801 pictures captured by 4,738 photographers.
