Paul Insect
Broken vision

Broken Vision introduces a new series of works – created especially for the exhibition – where fragmentation, irony, and social critique converge. The figures that populate his compositions evoke masked characters, reminiscent of theatre or caricature. Executed with great technical precision, the paintings stem from manual methods such as dotwork, referencing photocopies and screen-printing processes, evoking the aesthetics of posters and graphic reproducibility.
Through cut-out eyes and mouths, Paul Insect builds a visual commentary on information overload and the noise of appearances, tackling themes such as surveillance, identity, and representation. At the same time, he restores the imperfect charm of the handmade gesture, which grants his compositions a distinctive and tactile dimension.
