Patricia Brennan Septet

The music of vibraphonist Patricia Brennan, a prominent name in the New York jazz scene, has not stopped growing, both in the projects she has chosen for her compositions and in the ambition she brings to each of them.
After her solo debut on vibraphone and marimba with Maquishti, Brennan raised the bar with More Touch quartet. But few would have expected the giant leap made in Breaking Stretch. Gathering an adventurous septet around her, Brennan leads an explosion of inventiveness, combining, as Jazzwise noted, jazz-noir worthy of Bernard Herrmann, traces of Mingus and the touch of abstraction that make it one of the most brilliant jazz records of recent times.
