Música Viva 2024 Festival
May marks the return of the Música Viva Festival, which celebrates its 30th edition this year. Organized by Miso Music Portugal, the event aims to promote and disseminate contemporary musical creation, giving an international dimension to Portuguese music. The idea is also to promote meetings and provide opportunities for young performers and composers.
Over three decades, almost three generations of creators crossed paths at the festival, risking new possibilities for their careers. From May 3 to the 12th, the Ajuda area hosts a total of 13 concerts that include 45 works, more than half of which are by national creators, including 14 absolute premieres. There is also a sound installation, a workshop and an International Electroacoustic Composition Competition.
