With Journey to the End of the Night by Céline as a starting point, Bárbara Bañuelos offers us a piece based on the autobiographical self that becomes an expansive self. Hacer Noche is a scenic reflection on bodies and their contexts. A conversation for two about many. Bárbara met Carles in the research process of her previous project. Carles has a degree in German philology and speaks 5 languages, yet he works as a night watchman in a parking lot. A dark and lonely place where he talks with himself and his books. An intellectual forced to be in the dark because of his mental condition. For a year and a half, Bárbara and Carles have been sharing readings and reflections and from all that experience comes Hacer Noche: a conversation about power, silence, labor precariousness, loneliness, vulnerability, mental suffering? Hacer Noche is a journey into oneself. A meeting of two to unravel and question the colonist in us. A listening exercise, a narrative link, an intimate crowd.
