Directed by Antonio Ariza Momblant, Embrujo Flamenco arrives in Portugal bringing the talented dancers of Compañía de Baile Flamenca José Lucena and the equally talented musicians of the Hesperian Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by flamenco singer Belén Vega. It is inspired by the ballet of the same name, originally composed by Manuel de Fala, in 1915, which tells the story of a gypsy spirit who returns to the world of the living to protect the love of his wife, Candelas. Falla’s music, adapted for orchestra, now combines with flamenco dances and songs to take the audience on an exciting journey through Spanish tradition.
