Bernardo Sassetti Jazz Festival

The itinerant Bernardo Sassetti Jazz Festival brings audiences, musicians, teachers and students together. It aims to act on the artist’s behalf, through training and programming, with a highlight always given to the work left by Bernardo Sassetti. With each edition taking place in a different city in Portugal, 2024 finally brings the festival to Lisbon, the city where the musician was born and raised.

Created by Casa Bernardo Sassetti, it has invited national and international musicians to perform in concert over the course of three days, as well as challenging a group to perform a repertoire entirely dedicated to Bernardo Sassetti’s music. The Festival also wants to encourage musicians to play their own projects, thus honouring the creative freedom that Bernardo Sassetti cherished, valued and which characterised him so much.
