The Nutcracker, which became a holiday tradition all over the world, is one of Tchaikovsky’s best-known ballets and premiered in December of 1892 at the Mariinskii Theater in St. Petersburg, with original choreography by Lev Ivanov and Marius Petipa’s booklet, from texts by Alexandre Dumas who was inspired by the famous ETA story Hoffmann, The Nutcracker and the King of Rats. A story that stimulates the imagination of each one of the spectators, referring to the realm of fantasy and magic.
