Olhares do Mediterrâneo
Women’s Film Festival

Cinema made by women from the Mediterranean returns to Lisbon for the 12th edition of Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival. Under the theme Sowing Resistance, Cultivating Utopias, the festival presents a programme that encourages debate and features productions from 29 countries.
A highlight is the world premiere of the documentary Women, Land, Revolution, by Rita Calvário and Cecília Honório, about the participation of rural women in the April 25th revolution. The Festival celebrates optimism and irreverence with films such as Where the Wind Comes From, the debut feature by young Tunisian director Amel Guellaty, and the documentary The Brink of Dreams, by Egyptian duo Nada Riyadh and Ayman El Amir, winner of the Best Documentary Award at 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Environmental issues are also central in this year’s edition, with the screening of Marta Pessoa’s documentary This is not a Garden.
