French Film Festival 2025
The French Film Festival reaches its 26th edition with a programme showcasing over 60 films, with many premieres, films by emerging and established directors, special screenings, talks and special guests.
One of the highlights is the retrospective Alain Delon, a virtude do silêncio, taking place at Cinemateca and honoring the recently departed actor. The screenings reveal the different facets of Delon through the eyes of great masters of world cinema such as Antonioni, Zurlini, Godard, Losey, Melville and Visconti.
The festival opens with Richard Linklater’s Nouvelle Vague, a reflection on cinematic creation that pays homage to Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless and the Nouvelle Vague movement. Closing this edition is the presentation of Leave One Day, the musical comedy that opened the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, directed by Amélie Bonnin and starring singer and actress Juliette Armanet.
