Viva 2025!
New Year’s Eve at Terreiro do Paço
On the 31st, the city’s iconic square will be transformed into a huge open-air party hall for a collective New Year’s Eve toast, under the motto Viva 2025! A night to sing and dance to the music of two great Portuguese artists from different generations.
A pioneer of Portuguese rock, singer and composer recognized in the country and around the world – awarded with a Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence –, José Cid is the first artist to take to the stage, starting at 9:30 pm, for a surprising concert that will revisit iconic songs from a career spanning almost 70 years. A special show lasting over two hours that will feature some guests and even include Fado.
The concert will culminate with the traditional countdown to midnight, followed by a fireworks display over the Tagus River to celebrate the first ten minutes of 2025.
On stage, the party continues with a performance by Mickael Carreira, a successful pop musician who has captivated several generations of Portuguese and foreign audiences. With an 18-year career and about to release his new original album, the singer promises to get the audience dancing.
