Tribute: Lourdes Castro and Paula Rego
To celebrate Galeria 111‘s 60th anniversary, CAMB (Centro de Arte Manuel de Brito) and Galeria 111 are presenting two exhibitions, simultaneously. At CAMB, a retrospective with works by almost all the artists who have exhibited at the gallery over the years and who belong to the Manuel de Brito Collection. At Galeria 111, a tribute to Lourdes Castro and Paula Rego, two artists who left us in 2022 and who have been part of the gallery’s history for half a century.
The exhibition, which aims to showcase a more intimate side of both artists, focuses mainly on drawings. By Paula Rego, it is possible to admire a series of eight original drawings, never shown in Portugal, two works in pastel and several engravings. By Lourdes Castro, five drawings and a series of 14 original offsets can be seen.
