Florencia en el Amazonas
Met Opera Live in HD

A rare Met Opera production sung in Spanish. Florencia en el Amazonas is a creation by the Mexican composer Daniel Catán, a work that has catapulted him to international recognition. Inspired by the literary universe of Gabriel García Márquez, it tells of the return to Manaus of a Brazilian lyrical singer diva, not only to perform at the historic local hall, but also to search for an old love who disappeared in the jungle. Starring Ailyn Pérez, who has shone in recent Met productions, it features direction by conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin and staging by Mary Zimmerman.
