BadBadBadNotGood

BadBadNotGood was founded in 2010, before establishing their current lineup in 2015. They met at Humber College’s jazz program in Toronto and, at the time, instead of working with traditional jazz standards, they looked for inspiration in hip hop and other contemporary genres, to create a unique sound rooted in African-American music. The band includes Alexander Sowinski (drums), Chester Hansen (bass) and Leland Whitty (guitar and wind instruments).

On May 30th, they will perform live at Aula Magna, on a night in which they promise to revisit the 2021 album Talk Memory, where they pay tribute to the musicians, composers and influences that initially shaped their work. The album includes contributions from American instrumentalists Laraaji, Karriem Riggins, Terrace Martin, and Brandee Younger, and string arrangements from Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai.
