Ai Weiwei

Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei often revisits porcelain as a means of telling a story that is often based on the idea of transliteration, and this exhibition at Galeria São Roque Too, composed of 17 works of art, focus on this material extensively considered and explored by the artist and its nuances and links to the artistic heritage of Portuguese porcelain.

The exhibition also includes a new series of portraits with LEGO, which the artist began using in 2014, when he worked with a material associated with play to produce portraits of political prisoners.
