Fernanda Fragateiro

The works showcased in this exhibition – Fernanda Fragateiro’s first solo show at Galeria Filomena Soares – took inspiration from the strength and vulnerability that artists such as Charlotte Posenenske, Agnes Martin and Cady Noland channeled into a language of resistance after questioning the limits of their involvement and integration in the art world. Through sculptures that are, on the one hand, obstacles to circulation and, on the other, disarmingly light and transparent, Fragateiro also reflects on the present and on how artists and their works might constitute a locus of debate, political action, and resistance.

In A Monotonia é Fixe (Monotony is Cool), the artist offers new opportunities to see, recognize and find guidance.
