Mariphasa by Sando Aguilar
Special sessions

Sandro Aguila’s second feature film. Like other works, Mariphasa swings back and forth between dream and dream – or rather, between nightmare and reality. Dramatic and intriguing, the plot follows the life of a night watchman working at an abandoned industrial complex, tormented by his daughter’s death. He spends his days in the factory and at his house with his mistress. That’s where he notices a neighbor’s unstable behavior. Yet another factor contributing to the imminent collapse. The film was shown at various festivals this year, such as IndieLisboa and Berlinale – Berlin International Film Festival. The cast includes António Júlio Duarte, Isabel Abreu and Albano Jerónimo.
