The time greater than time

The exhibition O tempo maior que o tempo (The time greater than time), on display in Pavilhão Branco, stems from an interest in establishing potential intersecting dialogues between the visual production of two artists from the same generation who share a series of concerns and procedures that make their respective paths converge: Paula Prates and Rita Gaspar Vieira.

Broadly interested – through different processes of making and thinking – in questions of perception, observation of the passing of time and its relationship with bodies, and the elements and various forms of matter that compose the domain of the real, both artists have developed individual projects that have allowed them to visually explore these relationships, also demonstrating their consideration of the space by adopting a site-specific approach.
