Encountering Jazz
Metropolitana Soloists

Shimmering and delicate, the sound of the trumpet opens the door to the encounter of different styles and eras. It takes as its guiding light a very broad notion of jazz. At first it lets itself be embraced by the strings in expressions of lament, autumnal contemplations, romantic ballads with the unmistakable glamor of Broadway stages. Then he joins the electric bass and drums for a much more relaxed and rhythmic second half. It celebrates jazz standards, old and new, with brief notes of R&B, soul and an unexpected ending, a Brazilian choro.
