For Ever Godard

Nimas Cinema presents a cycle that pays homage to one of the pioneers of Nouvelle Vague: Jean-Luc Godard. An unavoidable figure in the history of cinema, brilliant, innovative, daring, Godard made a difference as a filmmaker and screenwriter, as an artist and philosopher.

When he died, in 2022, he left a wonderful legacy, a unique work whose central concerns were the volatility of human emotions and the difficulty of interpersonal relationships, the search for the real constantly wrapped in appearance, the desire to reflect on art itself and cinema.

The 11 films shown, in restored digital copies, are representative of the director’s various phases and excellent examples of the reflective and challenging work that the French-Swiss filmmaker created.
