International Women’s Day
Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra

Based on the principles of Human Rights, the UN International Days promote awareness and action on the realities of our time that need to be transformed in terms of values and behavior. March 8 reminds us that there is still a lot to be done when it comes to women’s rights. As in so many other areas, classical music has always reflected this need. But it also shows us that much has already been done. In this concert, we can hear works by five female composers performed by an orchestra that has maintained equal gender representation in its constitution.
