Interspecies

Interspecies delves into the historic and current desire for humans to understand, connect with, and coexist with other species. Ranging from listening devices to cohabitation spaces and decentralised governance models, the exhibition examines critically ways in which European society has pursued the materialisation of more-than-human realities.

At a time shaped by post-humanist philosophy and a climate crisis, the exhibition evokes the Romantic spirit, which emphasised the role of subjectivity and imagination, whilst deepening appreciation for nature in response to Enlightenment thinking and the Industrial Revolution. The exhibition also showcases two interventions to be constructed outside the museum: one designed for people and birds, by Studio Ossidiana, and another designed for people and fish, by Superflex + KWY.
