Museu de Lisboa - Teatro Romano
Irisalva Moita

Founder of the Museu da Cidade in Lisbon and responsible for the excavations of the Roman theatre in the 1960s, the name Irisalva Moita is inseparable from the history of national archaeology and museology.

On what would be her 100th birthday, the Museum of Lisbon – Roman Theatre pays tribute to her with a photographic exhibition of her 1975 trip to Italy on display in “her” Casa de Fresco. The occasion will also be marked by the presentation of the leaflet Roman theatre, geography of an investigation, which brings together information about the territory where the theatre is located and the work carried out by the Museum of Lisbon – Roman Theatre to continue the research begun by Irisalva Moita.
