LEFFEST’23

Leffest – Lisboa Film Festival runs from November 10 to 19 in the city of Lisbon. The programme of this 17th edition includes 10 films in the international competition, signed by renowned names and emerging filmmakers, several premieres, special sessions, a tribute to Clint Eastwood and a retrospective dedicated to Turkish director Nuri Bilge Caylan. Theater, exhibitions and a program on artificial intelligence complement the many cinematic exhibitions.

Of the various premieres, the opening film stands out – Poor Things, by Yorgos Lanthimos, starring Emma Stone and with a brief role of Portuguese fadista Carminho. The film won the Golden Lion at the Venice Festival. Also noteworthy Anatomie d’Une Chute, from French director Justine Triet, winner of the Golden Palm in Cannes. Priscilla by Sofia Coppola, May December by Todd Haynes, and Ken Loach’s The Old Oak are other of the movies not to be missed.
