The Invisible Exhibition

Sound has come to play a crucial role in the work of many artists. Whether by using voice or creating auralscapes, sound provides them with conceptual exploration situations. Curated by Delfim Sardo, this exhibition showcases the mapping of such situations, based on the homonymous project he presented in Spain and Israel in 2007. Now in an enlarged version, this exhibition offers a historic journey where sound carves out space, involving visitors and immersing them in narratives suggested by the human voice. The Invisible Exhibition brings together pieces by modernist artists such as Raoul Hausmann, Luigi Russolo, Marinetti or Kurt Schwitters, as well as works by Luísa Cunha, Ceal Floyer, Julião Sarmento, António Dias, Robert Barry, Bruce Nauman, and Michael Snow, among others. The show also features events taking place in other sites, both indoors and outdoors, where it is possible to follow recent proposals by Portuguese artists Ricardo Jacinto and Jonatham Saldanha, as well as a concert version of A Man in a Room, Gambling, originally created by Gavin Bryars and Juan Muñoz.

Tuesday through Sunday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm
