Pedro Gomes

In Encontro às Cegas/Blind Date, Pedro Gomes showcases about 20 works from a consistent 25-year creative journey and proposes a pertinent debate on drawing and the images that surround us. Curated by Emília Ferreira and Hugo Dinis, this retrospective exhibition reflects on a society in which excess is the rule and the urgency to create images seems to be both infinite and random. The works that have been selected for this exhibition showcase – in a critical way – a drawing style based on realistic assumptions, from which Pedro Gomes tries to recover his sensitivity and rediscover his lost passion. The show features two never-before-seen series of drawings, created in 2019 and 2020, as a continuation of the works presented by the artist in his latest exhibitions.
