Contemporary Photography in the City
Parallel Review Lisbon brings together, for the first time, the six international exhibitions displayed in six European cities throughout 2018 as part of the first ‘Parallel – European Photo Based Platform’ cycle. Thus, the area surrounding Campo de Santa Clara will showcase the works of 23 new artists and six emerging curators to the Portuguese public. Besides these exhibitions, there will be various activities focusing on contemporary photography – such as guided tours, a cyanotyping workshop and several talks, which will seek to introduce new points of view, in addition to the artistic perspective, into the reflections on this topic. It is also during Parallel Review Lisbon that the Parallel Prize will be awarded: the most innovative exhibition of the first cycle will be replicated at the Photo London show in May 2019.
