We always start with an impossibility, or with a possibility we immediately jump into, thus rushing to render it impossible.
We always work in a direct relationship with the venue and the people. So what can we do with the rarefied space in which we find ourselves, dominated by images of absence?
Maybe what we are seeing right now is not theater but an idea of “theater”, which we insist on projecting, by digital means, onto an indefinable space, somewhere between public and private.
Maybe it is unwise to accept that closeness ensures any kind of intimacy.
Heading Against The Wall is presented in two versions, which can be seen live at Lux or at home. These are two different objects, pick one.
A documentary about nothing; the more you discover, the less you know.
Part of the 2020/2021 TBA (Teatro do Bairro Alto) season.
In English and Portuguese without subtitles.
An online version of the show will be broadcast on the website and TBA's social media accounts at the time of each session.
On November 15 the event will feature Portuguese Sign Language interpreters and audio description. Bookings at bilheteira@teatrodobairroalto.pt
